How a turn plays out
Shop, build, roll, launch
- 1 Shop
Spend $ on units, artifacts and spells. Chrono restocks the shop; items can be frozen to keep them.
- 2 Build
Place invaders on the grid. Each column has an artifact slot on top and takes the dice of its face value.
- 3 Roll
Base Dice roll, plus any Mini-Dice. Spend Chrono to reroll or Budge to nudge a die into a better column.
- 4 Launch
Dice score the units in their column. Pairs, triples and quadruples set off combos; STR times Mult is your attack.
- 5 Beat the target
Total Attack has to reach the Target Defense within the turns shown on the right of the screen. Pilots add their own rules.

FAQ
What kind of game is Dicevaders?
A dice-based roguelike deckbuilder by Pengonauts, published by Playstack. You lead an alien invasion from the StarVaders universe: buy units, place them on a six-column grid, then launch dice into the columns to score until your attack beats Earth's defense.
Is it Dicevaders or Dice Vaders?
Dicevaders, one word, on Steam and the Nintendo eShop. Early playtest posts wrote it as DiceVaders, and the logo splits it over two lines as DICE / VADERS, which is why both spellings get searched.
Is Dicevaders like Balatro?
Reviewers compare the two more than any other game: both are score-chasing roguelikes where Mult turns small numbers into huge ones. Dicevaders adds dice placement on a grid and commanders, and it launched with a bundle that pairs it with Balatro on Steam.
How this wiki is kept
Dicevaders Wiki is an independent, unofficial fan resource for Dicevaders players — not affiliated with Pengonauts.
- How we verify: Commander perks and item text come from the ten official Steam dev logs, unlock rates from Steam's global achievement stats, and every table says when it was read.
- Update cadence: After each Steam patch note we recheck the commander, artifact and challenge pages; while the game is new the achievement rates are re-read every week.
- What we don't do: No guessed tier list. Until real ranking data exists we describe what each commander does instead of inventing an order.
