Dicevaders Hidden Portal: What It Does and How to Trigger It
“Hidden portal” sounds like a secret area, and players search for it that way. In Dicevaders it is an artifact. There is no hidden map node or portal level in the 1.0 sources we checked.
What Hidden Portal does
| Type | Legendary artifact (listed under Legendary in the community list) |
| Effect | Can only be triggered by something else. When triggered: +6 Mini-Dice and +30 Mult |
| Levelling | +30 Mult per level |
The effect text comes from a community artifact list on Steam updated for 1.0; the developers have not published it in a dev log, so treat the exact numbers as the community’s reading of the tooltip.
Why it does nothing on its own
Most artifacts fire when their column scores, for example when you land a pair under them. Hidden Portal ignores that: it needs another effect that says “trigger an artifact”. Once it fires you get six extra Mini-Dice, which is why it shows up in Mini-Dice builds.
What can trigger it
- Units that trigger artifacts when scored. In Haelian’s 1.0 run an Asteroid unit was the trigger: “it’s going to trigger the hidden portal”, provided a Mini-Die landed in its column.
- The Riftmaker’s Gamma Ray perk: whenever you roll into a Rift face, trigger a random artifact.
- The Exalted’s Divine Touch: any artifact at Level 3 or below triggers when it levels up, so feeding Hidden Portal XP early fires it.
The developer has said Mini-Dice and “trigger” synergies are what “breaks the game wide open”, and Hidden Portal is both at once.
How players use it
- Position matters. Haelian swapped Hidden Portal with another artifact so it kept levelling where XP was flowing. The swap spell can move artifacts between columns.
- It is a pick over other Mini-Dice items. Wanderbots chose it over Veracity in a 1.0 shop, then saw the Mini-Dice count jump: “we got hidden portal”.
- It scales with levels. Each level adds +30 Mult to the payout, so a Hidden Portal that fires several times a turn grows fast.
