Dicevaders Gluttony and Peashooter: The Combo Explained
Two artifacts come up again and again in early Dicevaders reviews. One reviewer with a beta background described the late game as “get peashooter, get gluttony, score” and listed them among about five artifacts that are far stronger than the rest. Here is what each does and why the pair works.
The two artifacts
| Artifact | Rarity | Effect | Per level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peashooter | Uncommon | After you score a pair in this column, score 3 random units in other columns | +1 unit |
| Gluttony | Rare | Units scored during or before Base Dice gain +20 STR | +20 STR |
Effect text and scaling as listed in the community artifact list on Steam (updated for 1.0). A second reviewer describes Peashooter the same way: it “scores 3 random units in other columns when you score a pair in its column”.
Why they work together
- Peashooter multiplies how often units are scored. Every pair under it scores three more units elsewhere, and each level adds one more.
- Gluttony turns every early score into permanent STR. Units scored during or before your Base Dice gain +20 STR, and players report that STR gains stay on units between rounds.
- Together every pair spreads extra scores across the board, and each of those scores makes the unit stronger for the rest of the run. Both artifacts also level, and the developer’s general advice applies: rarer artifacts scale faster, and Gluttony is the Rare one.
Building around them
- Give Peashooter a reliable pair column. Budge is how you make pairs on demand; The Captain’s free Budge each turn and Monocle (lone Base Dice count as pairs) fit naturally.
- Fill the board. Peashooter picks random units in other columns, so empty tiles waste hits.
- Add “when scored” units. Units with a target icon fire their effect each time they are scored, and Peashooter scores them more often.
- Watch the order. Gluttony only feeds units scored during or before Base Dice, so effects that score after them do not grow STR.
A word of caution
These are player observations from launch week, and the developer has already promised balance changes for Chapter 6. If a patch changes either artifact, we will update the table; check the patch notes page. For every commander-only item, see the artifact list.
